Vom 11. bis 15. April 2011 16. bis 20. Mai 2011 finden in Istanbul das erste Mal die Istanbul Media Days statt. Sie werden veranstaltet von SEEMO und Bilgi University mit Beteiligung des Instituts für Publizistik unter der Leitung von Prof. Thomas Bauer. Der Teilnehmerkreis der Konferenz “Communicating Democracy and Democratizing Communication” setzt sich zusammen aus ExpertInnen aus Medienmanagement, Medienpolitik, Medienbildung, HerausgeberInnen, VerlegerInnen, Journalisten und Jornalistinnen. All students researching in frame of Master or PHD work on any topic that matches the overall perspective of the interrelation of KNOWLEDGE , MEDIA, AND SOCIETY are kindly invited to apply for participation with a submission of an abstract. The call is open to all interested students of cooperating universities/faculties as well as to the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Vienna, especially from the Department of Communication.

On November 23, 2010 Prof. Bauer will be moderating the panel “Social Networks – Social Responsibility. Role of the Industry” at the INACH Annual Conference Vienna 2010 on “Modern Times, New Networking: Youth, Hate and Web 2.0”. The conference ist taking place in OSCE Hofburg, Bibliothekssaal.

Für das Jahr 2011 lädt PRO SCIENTIA wiederum begabte Studierende (Masterarbeit / Dissertation) zur Bewerbung um Aufnahme ein. Interessenten mit dem Anspruch von Begabung und von zu erwartender ausgezeichneter Arbeit werden gebeten sich bei Prof. Bauer bis spätestens 30.11 mit einem Bewerbungsschreiben (2 Seiten Arbeitsbeschreibung) zu melden.
